Mexico is the largest Spanish speaking nation in Latin America with a population more than 100 million, over half being less than 20 years of age. Mexico City, the capital, with a population of more than 20 million, is the largest city in the world. According to Operation World, 6.20% of the Mexican population is now protestant. The figures continue to rise.

Ministry in Seven Cities

It was my privilege to minister with World Gospel Mission, the Transformation Church in Irapuato, and the developing church plants in Queretaro, Aguas Calientes, Nueva Floresta, Pueblo Nuevo, and Leon. All of these cities are located in the heart of Mexico, a highly industrialized region of the country.

While in Mexico, I stayed with Bill and Lydia Allshouse, a gracious and committed couple, who oversee the work of World Gospel Mission for all of Mexico and who work closely with the national church. Bill and I traveled overland to the above cities where I spoke a total of 16 times to developing congregations, men, women, youth, and married couples, including recordings of messages and speaking on live radio.

Rescued

Central Mexico is known for its financial and traditional ties to Roman Catholicism, which is deeply entrenched and entangled in idolatry and paganism. Other problems also prevail, as seen in the city of Queretaro where you find the highest divorce rate in Mexico and a high level of alcoholism. But the Gospel is making its inroads, strongholds are being broken, and lives are being rescued and transformed. This was repeated again as over 20 people found Christ during my preaching circuit.

An Open Door

In cooperation with World Gospel Mission and the national church, I look forward to returning to Mexico later this year for further evangelistic efforts in the city of Saltillo and surrounding areas.
