About the Francis Asbury Press
[Need historical paragraph to be written.]
In keeping with the mission of the Francis Asbury Society, the Francis Asbury Press (FAP) produces a variety of resources. To better clarify the purpose of different resources, FAP has divided its publishing efforts into three lines:
As its title indicates, the Academic publishing line for FAP is dedicated to scholarly pursuits, especially textbooks. The primary audience for this line includes Bible teachers, college/university/seminary professors, theologians, and scholars; however, FAP Academic resources could benefit the general public as well.
Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit, who resides in our hearts, to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life and become more and more Christlike—victorious living. The FAP Disciple publishing line seeks to promote resources that support Christian discipleship. The audience for this line is primarily Christians, but FAP Disciple resources also could target those who are honestly seeking Christ.
It can be inspiring and encouraging to read about others who have gone before and succeeded in living victoriously for Christ. The FAP Witness publishing line is dedicated to those stories, including testimonies, historical biographies, novels, and any other genre that gives witness to the power of the Holy Spirit to transform our lives.
Before submitting a full manuscript, authors are welcome to contact the Francis Asbury Press (FAP) to see if their proposed project would meet our publishing requirements and guidelines. To make that determination, FAP requires a completed Publishing Application Form, which requests the following information about the project:
Full author contact information (mailing address, email and/or primary phone number)
Author educational and experiential qualifications (i.e., a resume/vita)
Author's personal biography (FAP would like to know a little about you as a person/author)
Publication information (page count, proposed audience, book summary/outline, etc.)
Please submit this form to publishing@francisasburysociety.com, allowing four to six weeks for an initial application review.
Upon review of the inquiry, the Publishing department may request all or part of the manuscript for review. If a partial or complete manuscript is requested from the author or agent, FAP prefers to be the only house receiving the work. However, we will accept simultaneous submissions provided that the author or agent makes this clear in a cover letter and immediately informs us if and when another publisher has tendered an offer or has accepted the work for publication.
The Francis Asbury Press (FAP) is currently accepting manuscript submissions. To submit a manuscript for consideration, send a completed Publishing Application Form, along with the manuscript, either partial or complete, formatted as listed below. Please allow six to eight weeks for review of partial or complete manuscripts.
Printed on or electronically formatted for 8.5" x 11" white paper.
Double-spaced, left-justified text for ease of editing.
Consecutively numbered pages throughout. (Do not number chapters separately.)
If illustrations, art, photographs, graphs, charts, or the like are integral to the work, please provide photocopies of these. If we need to see the originals, we will contact you.
Please email submissions to publishing@francisasburysociety.com or mail them to:

Francis Asbury Press (FAP) publications should further the ministry of the Francis Asbury Society. To that end, they should teach or illustrate:
Some doctrine especially characteristic of Wesleyan Arminian Holiness theology, such as free will vs. determinism.
That salvation involves the totality of the New Birth, Initial Sanctification, Entire Sanctification and Growth in Holiness
The truth that entire sanctification is the result of a gracious act of God subsequent to the new birth.
That the expression of the divine life in the believer is self-giving, self-denying love growing out of a love-relationship with the Triune God.
That the expected outcome of gracious salvation is a life of Spirit-empowered holiness: integrity, righteousness, justice, truth (in relationships especially), and goodness.
That the barrier to entire sanctification is that self-will that prevents total surrender of the life to Christ, and that this surrender is both enabled and its results developed through the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
It is not necessary that any or all of the ideas mentioned above be taught solely or even primarily, but they should be a clear and pervasive foundation to all that the publication is intending to say. The FAP imprint should make the material more appealing to the constituency of the Francis Asbury Society and to that larger constituency for whom the Asbury name continues to have some resonance.
